1. Overview / अवलोकन

JLPT N4 is the second level in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. It measures basic Japanese skills for everyday life, simple conversations, reading, and writing short passages.

JLPT N4 जापानी भाषा दक्षता परीक्षाको दोस्रो स्तर हो। यो दैनिक जीवन, सरल संवाद, छोटा पाठ पढ्ने र लेख्ने आधारभूत क्षमता मूल्याङ्कन गर्छ।

Passing N4 shows you can:

• Understand basic Japanese grammar and vocabulary.

• Read and understand short passages written in simple kanji and hiragana.

• Communicate in simple daily situations.

N4 पास गरेपछि तपाईं:

• आधारभूत व्याकरण र शब्दावली बुझ्न सक्नुहुन्छ।

• सरल कञ्जी र हिरागानामा लेखिएका छोटा पाठ पढ्न र बुझ्न सक्नुहुन्छ।

• दैनिक जीवनका साधारण परिस्थितिमा संवाद गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ।

2. Vocabulary / शब्दावली

• Learn around 1,500–2,000 words.

• Focus on nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs commonly used in daily life.

• Group words by topics: family, school, work, time, food, directions.

• करिब १,५००–२,००० शब्द सिक्नुहोस्।

• दैनिक जीवनमा सामान्य प्रयोग हुने संज्ञा, क्रिया, विशेषण, क्रियाविशेषणमा ध्यान दिनुहोस्।

• शब्दहरूलाई विषय अनुसार समूह गर्नुहोस्: परिवार, स्कूल, काम, समय, खाना, दिशा।

Tips / सुझाव:

• Flashcards, SRS apps (Anki, Quizlet), and vocabulary notebooks help.

• Contextual learning: use words in sentences rather than memorizing alone.

• फ्ल्यासकार्ड, SRS एप (Anki, Quizlet), र नोटबुक उपयोगी छन्।

3. Grammar / व्याकरण

Key grammar points for N4 include:

• 〜たい (want to do)

• 〜ながら (while doing)

• 〜そうです (it seems / I heard)

• 〜てはいけません (must not)

• 〜ほうがいい (better to …)

• 〜かもしれません (might / maybe)

N4 का मुख्य व्याकरण बुँदा:

• 〜たい (गर्न चाहन्छु)

• 〜ながら (गर्दै गर्दा)

• 〜そうです (जस्तो देखिन्छ / सुनेँ)

• 〜てはいけません (गर्न हुँदैन)

• 〜ほうがいい (गर्नु राम्रो हुन्छ)

• 〜かもしれません (सक्छ / सायद)

Tips / सुझाव:

• Make small sentences using each grammar point daily.

• Compare similar grammar (e.g., 〜たり…〜たり vs 〜たりする) to understand differences.

4. Kanji / कञ्जी

• Learn around 300 kanji at N4 level.

• Focus on meaning, one common On’yomi, one common Kun’yomi, and 2–3 common words per kanji.

• Learn compounds (e.g., 日 — 日本, 今日) to remember readings and usage.

• N4 स्तरमा करिब ३०० कञ्जी सिक्नुहोस्।

• अर्थ, एउटा सामान्य On’yomi, एउटा सामान्य Kun’yomi, र २–३ सामान्य शब्दमा ध्यान दिनुहोस्।

• Shadow the audio: repeat aloud while listening.

• छोटा पाठ, बाल पुस्तक वा NHK Easy लेखहरू पढ्नुहोस्।

• पढिसकेपछि आफ्नै शब्दमा सारांश बनाउनुहोस्।

7. Exam Strategy / परीक्षा रणनीति

• Time management: allocate more time to reading and listening.
